Welcome!
Hello! My name is Dr. Nancy Thacker Darrow, and I am a counselor educator who gets really jazzed when engaging research and teaching. I love being curious and sharing knowledge with others. My appreciation for the helping professions started at an early age growing up in Southwestern Virginia. I learned wellness and growth is richest when done in community. I entered the counseling profession with hopes to create spaces where diverse communities can learn and grow together and access support when needed. My career has taken me from Tennessee, to Alabama, and now to Vermont. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Counseling at the University of Vermont. My areas of expertise are in grief and loss, LGBTQ+ counseling and development, equity in counseling and higher education, and qualitative research methods. I am excited to offer workshops and consultation services for students and professionals in counseling and related fields. Please feel free to peruse my CV linked below, explore my work and offerings on my website, and connect with me via email to learn more or book a service.
